It is possible to display the content from the meta fields in admin columns with the help of a Custom Callback<\/strong> function provided by the JetEngine<\/em> plugin.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s assume you want to display the picture from the Media<\/strong> meta field in the Custom type posts list. This tutorial will show you how to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add Meta Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This step should be recreated if you haven\u2019t added the \u201cMedia\u201d Meta Field <\/strong>yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to the Custom Post Type<\/strong> you have created beforehand by following the WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Post Types <\/em><\/strong>path and opening the needed CPT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scroll down to the Meta Fields <\/strong>section and press the \u201cNew Meta Field<\/strong>\u201d button to add a \u201cMedia\u201d Meta Field<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the changes by hitting the \u201cUpdate Post Type<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complete Meta Fields in Posts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Go to the Custom Post Type <\/strong>posts. Open every needed post and complete the newly built meta field. Update the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create Admin Column<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n

Go back to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Post Types<\/em><\/strong> and reopen the same CPT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head to the Admin Columns <\/strong>section and click \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d to adjust a column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fill in the Title<\/strong> and select the \u201cCustom Callback\u201d option as a Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, press the \u201cSelect from existing callbacks<\/strong>\u201d button next to the Callback <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the appeared pop-up, find and click on the \u201cjet_engine_custom_cb_render_image\u201d option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This callback allows displaying post thumbnails or images from the specific meta field, which suits the described case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the option is selected, the Set field <\/strong>is completed with a \u201cthumbnail\u201d value that shows the thumbnail image by default. However, here a needed meta field value can be put instead. So, paste the value stored in the Name\/ID <\/strong>field of the created meta field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, you can change the Size<\/strong> of the displayed image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Push the \u201cApply<\/strong>\u201d button to save the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the Callback <\/strong>field is filled in with the needed value automatically. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complete the following fields if needed. For instance, we have set the Column order <\/strong>with a \u201c2\u201d value so the admin column will be displayed second in the options list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t forget to press the \u201cUpdate Post Type<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open the Custom Post Type<\/strong> options list in the WordPress Dashboard. Now, the image is displayed in the admin column next to the title or wherever where the order was set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
