In this tutorial, we use the JetEngine\u2019s<\/em><\/a> Custom Post Type<\/strong><\/a> and its posts, but reviews can also be applied to the default WordPress posts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjust the Review Type<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to WordPress Dashboard > JetReviews > Review Types<\/em><\/strong> and either click the \u201cAdd New Type<\/strong>\u201d to add a new one or edit the already existing type. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Refer to our How to Create a New Review Type<\/strong><\/a> guide to learn more about creating Review Types<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case, we add a new Review Type<\/strong> for the CPT<\/strong>. After filling up the General Settings<\/strong> tab, proceed to the Source Metadata<\/strong> section. Enable the Use Metadata Source<\/strong> toggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Average rating metadata key<\/strong> field, you can set the desired name. In this case, we keep the default one. Click the \u201cSync rating data<\/strong>\u201d button if it is not a new Review Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cCreate \/ Update Review Type<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensure that ratings are added to your posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filter Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Go to WordPress Dashboard > Smart Filters<\/em><\/strong>, then click the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button. Add the Filter Name<\/strong> and select either \u201cRating\u201d or \u201cRadio<\/a>\u201d Filter Type<\/strong>. In this case, we select the \u201cRating\u201d. Then you can set up the Star count<\/strong> and Inequality operator<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Query Variable<\/strong> input, paste the Average rating metadata key<\/strong>. We use the default \u201c_jet_reviews_average_rating\u201d; if you changed it, use the updated key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a Posts Listing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following the How to Create a Listing Template for Post Types in Elementor<\/strong><\/a> guide, we created a Listing Template<\/strong><\/a> for the posts we plan to filter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the template.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Add the Filter and the Listing to a Page<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Move to the page where you need to display the filter. Add the Listing Grid<\/strong><\/a> widget and select the template you have created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, add the Rating Filter<\/strong> widget and select the filter you created. Ensure you selected the \u201cJetEngine\u201d option in the This filter for<\/strong> dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to the front and choose the desired rating. Thus, when we select five stars, we get the posts with the 5-star rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
