The Recently Viewed<\/strong> section lists the pages users have visited before. It is popular in online stores and displays products that users viewed. The Recently Viewed<\/strong> section makes website navigation easier and improves user experience. The JetEngine<\/em> plugin allows you to create the section using the Data Stores<\/strong> module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a Data Store<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to WordPress Dashboard ><\/em><\/strong> JetEngine > JetEngine Dashboard > Data Stores<\/em><\/strong> and hit the \u201cNew Store<\/strong>\u201d <\/strong>button. Choose the Name <\/strong>(here, \u201cRecently Viewed\u201d<\/em>), Store type<\/strong> (here, \u201cSession\u201d), and other features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turn on the Store item on view<\/strong> toggle to allow adding the pages\/posts to the store after the user visits them. You can also specify the post type in the Watch for post type<\/strong> drop-down menu (here, \u201cProperties\u201d<\/em>). Hit the \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Build a Query to Output the CPT Posts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > <\/em><\/strong>Query Builder<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Press the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button, specify the query name (here, \u201cQuery for recently viewed\u201d)<\/em>, and select the type of queried data from the Query Type<\/strong> drop-down menu (here, \u201cPosts Query<\/a>\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, move to the General<\/strong> tab, and select the Post Type<\/strong> from the drop-down menu (here, \u201cProperties\u201d) and the \u201cPublished (publish)\u201d option from the Posts Status<\/strong> drop-down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last step, navigate to Post & Page > Post In<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em> Press the \u201cDynamic Tag<\/strong>\u201d button (\u201cdatabase<\/strong>\u201d icon) and select the \u201cGet store\u201d option from the drop-down menu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose the data store you have previously created (here, \u201cRecently Viewed\u201d<\/em>) and press the \u201cApply<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Output the Recently Viewed Posts in Elementor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Create or open a page in Elementor, add the Listing Grid<\/strong><\/a> widget, select the Listing<\/strong> with the CPT<\/strong> posts, and save the changes by pressing the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjust the \u201cRecently Viewed\u201d section, then copy and paste the Listing Grid<\/strong> widget with the same Listing<\/strong> to display the recently viewed items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to the Custom Query<\/strong> tab of the second Listing Grid<\/strong>, move the Use Custom Query<\/strong> toggle, and select the built query (here, \u201cQuery for recently viewed\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workflow for displaying recently viewed posts in the Block Editor is the same as in Elementor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open a page or post in the Block Editor and add two Listing Grid<\/strong> blocks with the same Listing<\/strong> displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, navigate to the second Listing Grid<\/strong> block (intended to display the recently viewed pages), unroll the Custom Query<\/strong> settings, and assign the created query in the Custom Query<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, publish the page and click on some posts to make them recently viewed.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Output the Recently Viewed Posts in Bricks<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The workflow for displaying recently viewed posts in the Bricks editor is the same as in Elementor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open a page or post in Bricks and add two Listing Grid<\/strong> elements with the same Listing<\/strong>. The first one displays all CPT <\/strong>posts, and the second shows the recently viewed posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, configure the second Listing Grid<\/strong> element: <\/strong>move to the Custom Query<\/strong> settings and assign the created query in the Custom Query<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, publish the page and click on some posts to make them recently viewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
