Create a meta box<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you want to show featured posts from default WordPress posts, <\/strong>you need to create a meta box.
Go to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Meta Boxes<\/em><\/strong> and press the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button to build a new meta box item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"jetengine\n\n\n\n

In the Source <\/strong>dropdown, choose \u201cPosts\u201d and add the meta field with the \u201cSwitcher\u201d Field type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

If you have a lot of posts, better use the \u201cCheckbox\u201d Field type<\/strong> for this purpose.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\"switcher\n\n\n\n

Press the \u201cAdd\/Update Meta Box<\/strong>\u201d button and proceed to posts to fill out the options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\"wordpress\n\n\n

Build a listing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Next, go to WordPress Dashboard ><\/em><\/strong> <\/em>JetEngine > Listings <\/em><\/strong>and click the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button. In the appeared pop-up, choose the \u201cPosts\u201d Listing source<\/strong>, complete the following fields, and press the \u201cCreate Listing Item<\/strong>\u201d button to open the editor.
Once opened, build a listing item with needed widgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"switcher\n\n\n\n

Set query builder<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After the listing is ready, let\u2019s create a Query<\/a> for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Query Builder<\/em><\/strong> and push the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button.
Go to the Meta query<\/strong> section. Fill in the Field key\/name<\/strong>, choose the \u201cEqual\u201d Compare <\/strong>operator, <\/strong>and complete the switcher Value<\/strong> (when the switcher is on \u2014 its value is \u201ctrue,\u201d when off – \u201cfalse.\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the query by pressing the \u201cAdd\/Update Query<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"meta\n\n\n\n

Apply a query to a listing on the Elementor page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to the Elementor page. Here, add the Listing Grid <\/strong>widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Custom Query <\/strong>tab, activate the Use Custom Query <\/strong>toggle, pick a Custom Query<\/strong>, and save the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"custom\n\n\n\n

Look at the achieved result on the front end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"queried\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Custom Post Type Posts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Add a checkbox field in the post type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Post Types<\/em><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click on the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d or \u201cEdit<\/strong>\u201d button to open the post type editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"jetengine\n\n\n\n

Go down to the meta field section and add a <\/strong>\u201cCheckbox\u201d Field type<\/strong> with two options, \u201cfeatured\u201d and \u201cnot featured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"checkbox\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cUpdate Post Type<\/strong>\u201d and proceed to the next step.
Go to the <\/strong>edited post type, open one of the posts, and mark the featured value in the desired posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t forget to press the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d after editing posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"checkbox\n\n\n\n

Create a listing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Next, you need to build a Listing Grid<\/strong> for this post type. To do it, head to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Listings<\/em><\/strong> and push the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjust the needed settings in the pop-up and press the \u201cCreate Listing Item<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"jetengine\n\n\n\n

To display the checkbox field, choose the Dynamic Field<\/strong> widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cMeta Data\u201d in the Source <\/strong>field and specify the needed Meta Field<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, enable the Filter field output<\/strong> switcher and select the \u201cCheckbox field values\u201d option <\/strong>in the Callback <\/strong>drop-down menu.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Style the listing and hit the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"checkbox\n\n\n\n

Adjust query builder<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The primary step is to make a Query<\/strong> to show only featured posts.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to WordPress Dashboard ><\/em><\/strong> <\/em>JetEngine > Query Builder<\/em><\/strong> <\/strong>to create a new query. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cPosts Type\u201d Query Type <\/strong>and find the desired CPT in the Post Type <\/strong>list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, go to the Meta Query<\/strong> section; in the Field key\/name<\/strong> field, choose the \u201cJetEngine meta field\u201d <\/strong>macro by pressing the dynamic tag button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set the \u201cRegexp\u201d Compare <\/strong>operator and fill in the desired value, depending on which posts you want to show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t forget to update the Query <\/strong>by hitting the \u201cAdd\/Update Query<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"meta\n\n\n\n

Applying a query to a listing on the Elementor page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Create a static page or go to the needed page and add the Listing Grid <\/strong>widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose the created Listing<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterward, go to the Custom Query <\/strong>section, enable the Use Custom Query <\/strong>toggle, and choose the created query in the Custom Query <\/strong>list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"featured\n\n\n\n
