However, you might need to show only the particular posts for different pages. Queries help you define the items shown in the grid on a certain page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, open the page where you have placed the <strong>Listing Grid<\/strong> widget in the Elementor page builder, click on it, and let\u2019s go through the settings.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"note-banner d-flex border-bold border-jetsmartfilters rounded overflow-hidden p-20\"><div class=\"mr-12\"><svg width=\"24\" height=\"24\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M1 21H23L12 2L1 21ZM13 18H11V16H13V18ZM13 14H11V10H13V14Z\" fill=\"#FA5450\"\/><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"d-flex flex-column\"><div class=\"text-900 mb-12\">Warning<\/div><p class=\"m-0\">The following tabs (<strong>Posts Query<\/strong>, <strong>Terms Query<\/strong>, <strong>Users Query<\/strong>, <strong>Content Types Query<\/strong>) concerning query settings are legacy. We recommend using the <a href=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/features\/query-builder-overview\/\">Query Builder<\/a> functionality and <strong>Custom Query<\/strong> tab, respectively.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"first-sight\">First Sight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>There will be a few features when you unfold the <strong>Posts Query<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/post-query-first.png\" alt=\"posts query first sight\">\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, there will be a single item. Every query is added to the <strong>Listing Grid<\/strong> separately, but you can add as many as you need by clicking the \u201c<strong>Add Item<\/strong>\u201d button. You will be offered to choose the item\u2019s <strong>Type <\/strong>from five variants: \u201cPosts &amp; Author Parameters,\u201d \u201cOrder &amp; Offset,\u201d \u201cTax Query,\u201d \u201cMeta Query,\u201d and \u201cDate Query.\u201d Each of them will be described further in this overview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other two features are <strong>Meta query relation<\/strong> and <strong>Tax query relation<\/strong>. If you have added several meta or tax query items, you can define how they work together here. <strong>AND <\/strong>means that all the added queries will perform at the same time. <strong>OR <\/strong>means that only one of the added queries that fit the case better will be active.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"posts-and-author-parameters-query\">Posts &amp; Author Parameters Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>This type of query allows you to filter the posts by their ID, relations, status, or author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/post-author-parameters.png\" alt=\"posts and author parameters query\">\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Include posts by IDs<\/strong> \u2014 this feature allows you to choose what posts will be displayed in the grid. Type their ID numbers in the field, separated by commas, and they will be shown in the grid. Or press the \u201c<strong>Dynamic Tags<\/strong>\u201d button to display posts based on the specific parameter. For instance, related items;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exclude posts by IDs <\/strong>\u2014<strong> <\/strong>if there are some posts that you don\u2019t want to show in this particular grid, you can exclude them here. Put the ID numbers of the posts you want to get rid of into the field, and they will be excluded;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get child of<\/strong> \u2014 if you want to display child posts of a specific (one or many) parent post, then enter the IDs of the parent posts here;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get posts with status<\/strong> \u2014 this feature allows you to display in the grid only the posts of a chosen status, like \u201cPublish\u201d or \u201cPrivate\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Posts by author<\/strong> \u2014 in this drop-down list, you can choose an author, and the grid will be displaying only that author\u2019s posts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Search Query<\/strong> \u2014&nbsp; if you need to show in the grid only those items that have a specific word in their title or description, this feature can help. Just type the word into the field;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get posts from store<\/strong> \u2014 this option allows you to show only the items that landed in a particular store. More details about this functionality can be found in <a href=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/articles\/jetengine-data-stores-module-overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this tutorial<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"order-and-offset-query\">Order &amp; Offset Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>If you want to add an offset to the grid items or place them in a specific order, this type of query will help you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/order-offset.png\" alt=\"order and offset query\">\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Posts offset<\/strong> \u2014 the number you type in here is the number of posts that the grid will leave out once showing them. For example, if you type \u201c1\u201d in this field, the first post in the grid will be the second post of the posts list;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Order<\/strong> \u2014 you can place the items in the ascending (ASC) or descending (DESC) order;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Order by<\/strong> \u2014 it is also possible to sort the posts by values like ID or Date. This feature can be combined with the <strong>Order<\/strong>. For example, you can order the posts by date and then choose descending order.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"order-by-feature\">\u201cOrder by\u201d feature<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the brief review of the available <strong>Order by <\/strong>options. Let\u2019s assume you have selected the \u201cASC\u201d option in the <strong>Order <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/order-by-feature.png\" alt=\"order by feature\">\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ID<\/strong> \u2014 displays items according to their ID numbers. So, the post with the ID \u201c1\u201d will be displayed as the first one, the one with ID \u201c2\u201d will be the second, etc.;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Author <\/strong>\u2014 filters items according to their author. The order depends on the author ID. As an example, admin ID is \u201c1\u201d, and editor ID is \u201c2\u201d, so the posts made by admin will be shown first;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Title<\/strong> \u2014 filters post titles by alphabetical order. In the list of countries, Argentina will be the first one, followed by Belgium, Canada, etc.;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Name <\/strong>\u2014 shows posts depending on their slug. For instance, the \u201capple-pie\u201d will go before the \u201cbanana-bread\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Type <\/strong>\u2014 displays posts by the post types. That means if you have several post types injected in the <strong>Listing Grid<\/strong>,<strong> <\/strong>the posts will be filtered depending on the post type they belong to;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Date <\/strong>\u2014 shows posts by the date they were published. So, if one post was published on 02\/20\/2021 and the other on 03\/15\/2021, the one posted in February will be located before the one posted in March;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Modified <\/strong>\u2014 sets posts by the date they were modified. For instance, if the \u201cBest TV Shows\u201d was modified on 02\/15\/2022, while the \u201cOscar Nominees\u201d was lastly edited on 02\/16\/2022, the \u201cBest TV Shows\u201d will be displayed before \u201cOscar Nominees\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Parent <\/strong>\u2014 places posts depending on their parent post\u2019s date of creation. That means the post which parent was created earlier than the other posts will be displayed first. By the parent, the Parent Page is meant. It should be edited right in the post editor under the <strong>Page Attributes <\/strong>tab, only when the <strong>Hierarchical <\/strong>toggle and \u201cPage Attributes\u201d <strong>Supports <\/strong>feature are activated in the <strong>Advanced Settings <\/strong>tab of the post type you want to edit;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Random <\/strong>\u2014 displays posts in a random order each time the page reloads;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Comment count <\/strong>\u2014 filter works by the number of comments left under the post. That\u2019s why the post with one comment will take the first place in the grid, and those whose audience left two or more comments will follow;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Relevance <\/strong>\u2014 shows posts by the search relevance, in the following order: posts with matching sentences; all search terms in the post title; any words from the search query in the post title; full sentence found in the post\u2019s content. Mind that search should be placed on the page for the correct work of this feature. For instance, <a href=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/articles\/jetsmartfilters-how-to-create-a-search-filter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Search Filter<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>by <a href=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/plugins\/jetsmartfilters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>JetSmartFilters<\/strong><\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Menu order<\/strong> \u2014 sets posts in a specific order determined in the <strong>Order <\/strong>field, available during the post editing. So, the posts which order is defined as \u201c0\u201d are to be shown first; after that, the post with the \u201c1\u201d order proceeds, then \u201c2\u201d, etc. Mind that the <strong>Order <\/strong>field appears only when the \u201cPage Attributes\u201d option is selected as <strong>Supports <\/strong>in the <strong>Advanced Settings <\/strong>tab of the post type editor;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Meta value<\/strong> \u2014 allows you to define the meta value by which you can filter posts. If we write \u2018_pricing\u2019 meta value in the <strong>Meta key for order <\/strong>field, the first option we\u2019ll get is a tour with a $150 price, the following will cost $180, and the third can be bought for $200 already;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Meta clause <\/strong>\u2014 displays posts depending on the meta clause. It works in cooperation with the &#8220;Meta Query&#8221; type. So, set the needed &#8220;Meta Query&#8221; and paste its <strong>Meta Query Clause<\/strong> value into the <strong>Meta clause to order<\/strong> field of the &#8220;Order &amp; Offset&#8221; query;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Preserve post ID order given in the \u201cInclude posts by IDs\u201d option<\/strong> \u2014 works if you have also added the <strong>Posts &amp; Author Parameters Query <\/strong>with some IDs pasted in the <strong>Include posts by IDs <\/strong>field. For example, if we write \u201c340, 723, 620\u201d post IDs in the mentioned field, we will get posts right in this order. Without the current <strong>Order by <\/strong>option, we would see the \u201c340, 620, 723\u201d posts order in the grid as they would be displayed in numerical order.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tax-query\">Tax Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>This type of query works with taxonomies and can help you sort the posts in the grid according to the categories you create for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/tax-query.png\" alt=\"tax query\">\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Taxonomy<\/strong> \u2014 in this drop-down menu, you can select the type of taxonomy applied to the posts. All available taxonomies will be listed there;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Taxonomy from meta field<\/strong> \u2014 if you have a meta field where you type in the taxonomy name, you can use it here. The value of the meta field will be used as a taxonomy for query;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Operator<\/strong> \u2014 this field defines how different terms will work together. <strong>IN <\/strong>operator shows all the values in the chosen taxonomy. <strong>NOT IN<\/strong> hides all the items that are applied to the selected term. <strong>AND <\/strong>operator allows the existence of multiple conditions. <strong>EXIST <\/strong>is used to test the existence of any record in a subquery. <strong>NOT EXIST<\/strong> performs the opposed action;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Field<\/strong> \u2014 here, you can choose how to display the terms: by Term ID, Slug, or Name. If you\u2019ve selected the <strong>Term ID<\/strong>, you should fill in the <strong>Terms <\/strong>field with the macro <strong>%current_terms%<\/strong> to display the posts with the same terms as the main one on the page. To add more terms to the current ones, you can simply enter the needed IDs separating them with a comma;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Terms<\/strong> \u2014 according to what you have chosen in the <strong>Field <\/strong>menu, here you have to type in the ID, slug, or name of the needed term;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Terms from meta field<\/strong> \u2014 if you have the meta field where you put the terms data, you can use it to set the term dynamically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"meta-query\">Meta Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>With the help of this query type, you can display in the grid only those posts that have a similar (or not similar; it depends on the Operator) value to the one you\u2019ve chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/meta-query.png\" alt=\"meta query\">\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Key (name\/ID) <\/strong>\u2014 here, you need to enter the ID or name of the Meta Field. The value of that meta field will be compared to the one you set;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Operator<\/strong> \u2014 this field defines how the values will be compared:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Equal <\/strong>\u2014 displays posts having an equal value;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not Equal<\/strong> \u2014 shows posts that don\u2019t have an equal value;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Greater than<\/strong> \u2014 shows posts that have a greater value. It works with numeric values only;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Greater or equal<\/strong> \u2014 displays posts that have a greater or equal value. It also works only for numeric values;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Less than<\/strong> \u2014 shows posts that have a lesser value. For numeric values only;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Equal or less<\/strong> \u2014 displays posts that have a lesser or equal numeric value;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Like <\/strong>\u2014 shows posts that have the value you set in the <strong>Value <\/strong>field mentioned in the content;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not like<\/strong> \u2014 displays only the posts that don\u2019t have the value you\u2019ve set in the <strong>Value <\/strong>field mentioned in the content;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>In <\/strong>\u2014 after you add several values to the <strong>Value <\/strong>field, it shows the posts that have at least one of them in their content;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not in<\/strong> \u2014 displays posts that have any values except the ones you typed into the <strong>Value <\/strong>field;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Between <\/strong>\u2014 displays posts that contain the value between two, which are set in the <strong>Value <\/strong>field;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not between<\/strong> \u2014 shows all the posts except the ones that contain a value that matches the set interval;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exist <\/strong>\u2014 shows all the posts that contain the <strong>Key<\/strong>. You don\u2019t need to set the <strong>Value <\/strong>in this case;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not exist<\/strong> \u2014 displays all the posts that don\u2019t contain the <strong>Key<\/strong>. You don\u2019t need to set the <strong>Value <\/strong>either.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Value<\/strong> \u2014 the value you\u2019ll type in here will be compared with the values in the <strong>Key <\/strong>meta field;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Or get value from query variable<\/strong> \u2014 this field allows you to take the value from the URL. Just paste the URL to the field and choose the <strong>Operator<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Type<\/strong> \u2014 in this drop-down menu, you can choose the type of the <strong>Meta Query Clause<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Meta Query Clause <\/strong>\u2014 after you type in the unique name here and hit the \u201c<strong>Update<\/strong>\u201d button, the clause you\u2019ve just created will become available in the <strong>Order &amp; Offset<\/strong> query. This way, you can order the posts according to a custom clause.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"date-query\">Date Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>If you want to sort the posts according to the date, this query type can help you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/date-query.png\" alt=\"date query\">\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Column<\/strong> \u2014 in this drop-down menu, you can choose the type of date you want to use. It could be the date of post creation or modification;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>After<\/strong> \u2014 if you set a date here, only the posts created or modified after that date will be shown;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Before<\/strong> \u2014 with the help of this field, you can make the grid display only the posts that were created or modified before the date you set.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>That is all for the <strong>Posts Query<\/strong> settings section of the <strong>Listing Grid<\/strong> widget.
