From this tutorial, you will learn how to create a listing and calendar from the JetEngine<\/strong><\/a> plugin and how to use Filter<\/strong> widgets with the Calendar<\/strong> widget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, let\u2019s create a different filter for the Calendar<\/a> <\/strong>widget. Navigate to Smart Filters<\/strong> > Add New<\/strong>, and type in the Name<\/strong>, Filter Label<\/strong>, and Active Filter Label<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"date\n\n\n\n

In Filter Type<\/strong>, select Date Range<\/strong> and choose Filter by Meta Date<\/strong>. If you\u2019ll choose the Post Date<\/strong>, then it will be simply the publication date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I choose the Meta Date<\/strong>, and in the Query Variable<\/strong> field, I need to paste the filed key from the Custom Field<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"date\n\n\n\n

To do that, go to the Custom Post <\/strong>type that you\u2019ve created before, for me it\u2019s \u201cEvents<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, in the Events<\/strong>, I\u2019ve got the number of posts, and each of these posts got the custom field with the Date<\/strong>. When I open the post called \u201cProduct Presentation<\/strong>\u201d and scroll down to the Settings<\/strong>, I\u2019ll find the field name Date<\/strong>, where the date of the event is set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"post\n\n\n\n

You need to copy the Name<\/strong> of this date that is called \u201cdate-<\/em>\u201d and insert it in the Query Variable<\/strong> filed in the filter you\u2019ve been creating. Then, click on the Publish<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"date\n\n\n\n

After that, open the needed page and drag-n-drop the Calendar<\/strong><\/a> widget to the section where you want to place it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Listing, <\/strong>select the listing you\u2019ve created for your events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"listing\n\n\n\n

Then, you need to choose by which criteria you want to Group posts<\/strong>. If you choose Posts publication<\/strong> date, it will display this post on the day when it was created. Post modification date<\/strong> will do the same, but it\u2019s going to display posts on the day when you have last changed this post. And the Date from the custom field<\/strong> will display posts on the dates that are set in the custom field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"group\n\n\n\n

I choose the Date from the custom field<\/strong> and in the Meta field name<\/strong> paste the name of the meta field \u201cdate-<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"meta\n\n\n\n

Afterward, drag the Date Range<\/a> Filter<\/strong> to the section. In the General <\/strong>settings, choose your filter, for me, it\u2019s Date Range<\/strong>. Then choose JetEngine Calendar<\/strong> from the This filter for<\/strong> dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"date\n\n\n\n

The last step is to click on the Publish<\/strong> button and check out how the filter works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
