Using the Search Suggestions<\/strong> functionality, you can place the Search Suggestion <\/strong>widget on the WooCommerce website. The widget outputs a standard search form. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As users begin typing in the search field, the widget searches the website\u2019s database for matching search queries and displays a list of queries containing the entered text, i.e., suggestions. You can manage these suggestions manually by editing or adding entries on the Search Suggestions <\/strong>dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding Suggestions Manually<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Follow the WordPress Dashboard > JetPluginsSettings > JetSearch > Suggestions <\/em><\/strong>path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Suggestions<\/strong> dashboard displays the list of search queries (suggestions) list formed from previously entered real search queries or those manually entered by the site administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To add suggestions manually, hit the \u201cAdd New\u201d <\/strong>button at the top of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each suggestion can have one parent. If the entered suggestion has a parent, then this parent item will take priority over the suggestion, and sorting will be performed considering the parent\u2019s Weight<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This logic is responsible for typing errors; for example, there are \u201ciphone\u201d and \u201cihpone\u201d suggestions. We have assigned \u201ciphone\u201d as the parent of \u201cihpone.\u201d Now, if the user starts typing \u201cihp\u201d instead of \u201ciphone,\u201d they will be shown the parent suggestion, which is \u201ciphone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We entered the \u201csweater\u201d Name<\/strong> and left the Parent <\/strong>field empty. Then, we pushed the \u201cAdd New\u201d <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is displayed now in the list and has the \u201cUnassigned Suggestion\u201d Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hit the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201dbutton again and added the misspelled \u201csweeter\u201d Name<\/strong>. As the Parent<\/strong>,we picked the \u201csweater\u201d suggestion from the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The new suggestion is also shown in the list with the \u201cChild Suggestion\u201d Type<\/strong> since we added a parent to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201csweater\u201d suggestion, in turn, obtained the \u201cParent Suggestion\u201d Type<\/strong> because the child was assigned to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding the Search Suggestions Widget<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Search Suggestions<\/strong> widget can be added to a page (e.g., “Home” page), header, etc. You can create a header with the JetThemeCore<\/em><\/a> WordPress plugin. To learn more, proceed to the How to Create a Custom WordPress Header<\/strong><\/a> tutorial. Open the page or header in the Elementor editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drag-n-drop the Search Suggestions<\/strong> widget to the Elementor editing page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cUpdate\u201d <\/strong>button and proceed to the front end.  Start typing any text (in our case, \u201csweater\u201d) and click on a suggestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you click on a selected suggestion, you will be redirected to the corresponding Search Results page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you enter the misspelled suggestion, the search bar shows the parent suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, you can enter several more suggestions. Then, return to the WordPress Dashboard > JetPluginsSettings > JetSearch > Suggestions <\/em><\/strong>page.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Editing the Suggestions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Two new \u201cjeans\u201d and \u201cjean\u201d suggestions appeared in the list after we entered them into the search bar. Let\u2019s click on the \u201cpencil-shaped<\/strong>\u201d icon <\/strong>near the \u201cjean\u201d suggestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Edit Suggestion <\/strong>pop-up, you can rename a suggestion, change its weight (the bigger the weight, the higher the suggestion in the list), and assign or unassign a parent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
