The \u201cQuery Builder Switcher\u201d is one of the Data Sources <\/strong>available for the JetSmartFilters<\/em>\u2019 \u201cSelect\u201d and \u201cRadio\u201d Filter Types <\/strong>if the JetEngine <\/em>plugin is installed on the WordPress website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This source allows switching between the Query Builder <\/strong>options on the front end. One \u201cQuery Builder Switcher\u201d source-based filter and one Listing Grid <\/strong>can display different queries, avoiding the need for several Listing Grid <\/strong>widgets.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create Filter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Go to WordPress Dashboard > Smart Filters > Add New <\/em><\/strong>to create a new filter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complete the Filter Name <\/strong>and head to the Filter Settings <\/strong>section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pick either \u201cRadio\u201d or \u201cSelect\u201d Filter Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, we choose the \u201cSelect\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose the \u201cJetEngine Query Builder Switcher\u201d Data Source <\/strong>and pick the needed query options in the Select Query <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, we use \u201cAll Books,\u201d \u201cPaper books,\u201d \u201cE-books,\u201d and \u201cAudio books\u201d queries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Change the Placeholder <\/strong>if needed and leave the Is Checkbox Meta Field (Jet Engine) <\/strong>toggle unactivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to the Query Variable <\/strong>field. Press the \u201cDynamic Tags<\/strong>\u201d button to see the presented ready-to-go options. \u0421hoose the \u201cSwitch JetEngine query\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leave the \u201cEquals (=)\u201d option in the Comparison operator<\/strong> field and head to the Filter Labels <\/strong>section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fill in the Filter Label <\/strong>and Active Filter Label <\/strong>fields to finish the setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d button to save the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things to know<\/div>

The same settings should be used if the \u201cRadio\u201d Filter Type<\/strong> was selected. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

There are two more toggles in the \u201cRadio\u201d Filter Type<\/strong> settings: Add all option <\/strong>and Ability to deselect radio buttons<\/strong>. They are optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to the WordPress Dashboard > Pages <\/em><\/strong>directory and press the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button or open the page you have built beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The page can be edited in Elementor, Block Editor, or Bricks Builder.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place the filter widget (Select Filter<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>or Radio Filter<\/strong>) and the Listing Grid <\/strong>widget on the page. Select the needed Listing<\/strong> for the Listing Grid <\/strong>widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the filter settings, complete the Select Filter <\/strong>field with the newly created filter\u2019s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pick the \u201cJetEngine\u201d option as a filter provider in the This filter for <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complete the Query ID <\/strong>with a value set in the query in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you haven\u2019t set Query ID<\/strong>, you can do it in the General Settings<\/strong> section of the WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Query Builder<\/em><\/strong> directory.<\/p>\n\n\n

All queries used for filter options must have identical Query IDs<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The same ID should be attached to the Listing Grid <\/strong>widget. Head to the Edit Listing Grid > Advanced > Layout<\/em> <\/strong>section and paste the needed value in the CSS ID <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to the Content <\/strong>tab and open the Custom Query <\/strong>section. Here, activate the Custom Query <\/strong>toggle and choose the item used by default in the filter. In our case, it is \u201cAll Books.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Optionally, complete the rest of the settings and hit the \u201cPublish\/Update<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n

For the Radio Filter<\/strong> widget, the settings should be adjusted the same way as for the Select Filter<\/strong> widget.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Go to the front end of the edited page. If we adjusted the settings correctly, the \u201cSelect\u201d filter options should represent the set queries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
