Things to know<\/div>

Starting December 2024, Meta will no longer provide the Basic Display APIs. Therefore, users should migrate to the Instagram APIs, which are available for Instagram Professional accounts and do not support ads, insights, or tagging. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

General Features\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Instagram Access Token<\/strong> is a typesetting of characters unique to users’ accounts, allowing other applications to access Instagram<\/strong> content. Without a token, websites cannot connect with the Instagram<\/strong> servers. The token furnishes a secure way for a website to ask Instagram permission to enter the user’s profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the Instagram<\/strong> policy<\/a> restricts displaying images from third-party accounts, users should get an Instagram Access Token<\/strong> and paste it into the JetElements<\/em> settings to prove they are owners of the content and display images and other content on the site.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Obtain an Instagram Access Token<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Add a new app<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Log in to your Meta for Developers<\/strong> account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cCreate App<\/strong>\u201d button will appear in the center of the dashboard (if you have not created any app yet). Press the \u201cCreate App<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, the Create an app<\/strong> window will appear. Here, fill out the App name<\/strong> field (the \u201ctester-croco-key\u201d text, in this case) and the App contact email<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cOther\u201d option in the Add use cases<\/strong> section. Press the \u201cNext<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cBusiness\u201d option in the Select an app type<\/strong> section. Press the \u201cNext<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, the Create an App <\/strong>window will appear, with the automatically filled-out App name<\/strong> and App contact email<\/strong> fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If needed, fill out the Business portfolio <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Press the \u201cCreate app<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Re-enter your password and press the \u201cSubmit<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configure app settings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After creating the new app, you will be redirected to a page offering to add a product and continue the setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cInstagram\u201d option and press the \u201cSet up<\/strong>\u201d button below this option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, the API setup with Instagram business login<\/strong> page will appear. Here, the Instagram app name <\/strong>field will show the app’s name users added previously. Also, the Instagram app ID<\/strong> and Instagram app secret<\/strong> fields will be filled automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next step, press the \u201cAdd account<\/strong>\u201d button in the Generate access tokens <\/strong>section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After adding the needed account, this block will be unrolled. There, press the \u201cGenerate token<\/strong>\u201d link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the generated token will be shown in the Access token<\/strong> field of the Token generated<\/strong> pop-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tick the \u201cI Understand<\/strong>\u201d option and copy the token.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Access Token to the Plugin Settings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Crocoblock > JetPlugins Settings<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfold the JetElements<\/strong> tab and proceed to the Integrations<\/strong> tab. Paste the copied Instagram token<\/strong> to the Business<\/strong> Access Token<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Instagram Photos to a Page\/Post<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Open your Instagram account and create posts with photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return to your site and create a page or post. Find the Instagram<\/strong> widget and drag and drop it to the page\/post.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unroll the Instagram Settings<\/strong> tab of the widget and select the My Photos<\/strong> option from the What to display<\/strong> drop-down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
