Adjust the JetSearch Settings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Crocoblock > JetPlugins Settings > JetSearch > Ajax Search Settings<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case, we intend to search over the site and additionally display a category list in the search results. Therefore, we enabled the Show Categories List<\/strong> toggle and kept the default\u00a0“Categories” option in the Taxonomy<\/strong><\/a> drop-down. We left the Source<\/strong> drop-down list empty to search the entire site. Then, we scrolled down the tab and enabled the Sentence Search<\/strong> and Search in taxonomy terms<\/strong> toggles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next stage, we picked the needed taxonomy in the Taxonomies <\/strong>field (the “Property type” in this case), scrolled the tab down, and kept the default “Relevance” option selected in the Results Order By<\/strong> drop-down list and “ASC” Results Order<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we scrolled the settings tab to the end and pressed the “Save Options<\/strong>” button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Add the Ajax Search Widget\/Block\/Element<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Open a page or post in the editor you prefer. In this case, we used Elementor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find the Ajax Search<\/strong><\/a> widget in the search bar and drag and drop it to the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customize the Search Form<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unroll the Ajax Search<\/strong> widget settings and move to the Content > Search Form<\/em><\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, we adjust the following settings. First, we picked an icon from the Media Library<\/strong> in the Input Icon<\/strong> field. Then, we added the “Type your request” text instead of the default “Search\u2026” in the Placeholder Text<\/strong> field and set the Minimal Quantity of Symbols for Search<\/strong> to three characters instead of two default ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the next step, we enabled the Show Submit Button<\/strong> toggle and typed the “Submit” text in the appeared Submit Button Label<\/strong> field. Then, we selected an icon for this button in the Submit Button Icon <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We activated the Show Categories List<\/strong> toggle and chose the needed Taxonomy<\/strong> (the “Property type” taxonomy in the given case), as well as typed the “All Property Types” in the Select Placeholder<\/strong> field. Finally, we activated the Responsive Form on Mobile<\/strong> toggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the changes by pressing the “Publish\/Update<\/strong>” button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Check the Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Move to the front end and type your request, which should be at least three characters long (according to the specified settings). In this case, we typed the “house” text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, we selected the “Duplex” Property Type in the drop-down menu with categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
