This tutorial focuses on creating the Orders CPT<\/strong>, managing and updating orders, and displaying them on the front end with the help of JetEngine <\/em>and JetBooking <\/em>WordPress plugins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cOrders\u201d Custom Post Type<\/strong><\/a> (CPT<\/strong>) is a useful solution for cases where online payments are not used, but orders need to be organized on the backend and made available for display on the front end.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cOrders\u201d CPT <\/strong>is needed when the WooCommerce Integration<\/strong><\/a> is not used on the site. After submitting the booking form<\/a>, a post is added to the \u201cOrders\u201d CPT<\/strong>, where the administrator can check, reorganize, or update the information or the booking\u2019s status. These posts can be displayed on the front end and be available for the administrator only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating the \u201cOrders\u201d Custom Post Type<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First, let\u2019s proceed to the WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Post Types ><\/em><\/strong> click the \u201cAdd Post Type<\/strong>\u201d button.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Post Type Name<\/strong> (\u201cOrders\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can create a CPT<\/strong> without any meta fields<\/strong><\/a>, as we will get all the required information from the database.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in this tutorial, we added meta fields<\/strong> to get the extra data that is not default in the Booking Details.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We added \u201cText<\/a>\u201d fields for the customer\u2019s name, surname, and email address, as well as \u201cNumber<\/a>\u201d fields for the customer\u2019s number and service price, and \u201cDate<\/a>\u201d fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cAdd Post Type<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Adjusting the Booking Orders Post Type<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, proceed to the WordPress Dashboard > Bookings > Settings > General<\/em><\/strong>. In the Booking orders post type<\/strong> field, select the \u201cOrders\u201d CPT<\/strong> we have just created.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizing Booking Order Data on the Backend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once the \u201cOrders\u201d CPT <\/strong>is created, the booking orders can be added via the booking form. Let\u2019s have a closer look. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ensure that you have a booking form created. Proceed to the front end page where the form is added and submit it after filling in all the form fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, let\u2019s proceed to the \u201cOrders\u201d CPT<\/strong>, and here is our new post:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can add or change the data in the meta fields if needed. Click the \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d button if you made any changes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Setting Up a Custom Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to the WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Query Builder<\/em><\/strong> tab and press the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button to build a new query. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Type the query\u2019s name (here, \u201cBooking Orders List\u201d) into the Name<\/strong> field and select the \u201cJetBooking Query\u201d option from the Query Type<\/strong> drop-down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can add more settings if needed to clarify the particular booking status or user, but in this tutorial, we will not do anything else in the query. Click the \u201cAdd Query<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Creating a Listing Item for the Booking Orders<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you need to display orders created on the site on the front end, you can use the Listing Grid<\/strong><\/a> widget.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, navigate to the WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Listings\/Components<\/em><\/strong> tab and press the \u201cAdd New Item<\/strong>\u201d button. Now, select the \u201cQuery Builder\u201d option from the Listing source <\/strong>drop-down menu and choose the necessary query from the Query <\/strong>drop-down menu (here, we pick the \u201cBooking Orders List\u201d query); next, set the Listing item name<\/strong> field, and select the editor from the Listing view<\/strong> drop-down menu. After that, you can press the \u201cCreate Listing Item<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the necessary fields to the listing item. For this tutorial, we find and drag-and-drop the Dynamic Field<\/strong><\/a> widget.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, we select the \u201cPost\/Term\/User\/Object Data\u201d option from the Source <\/strong>drop-down menu and set the \u201cBooking ID\u201d option in the Object Field<\/strong> drop-down menu, located in the JetBooking <\/strong>section. Additionally, we enabled the Customize field output<\/strong> toggle and added the \u201cBooking ID#\u201d text in the newly appeared field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that, we duplicate the Dynamic Field<\/strong> widget and select the \u201cCheck In Date\u201d option that can be found in the JetBooking <\/strong>section in the Object Field<\/strong> drop-down menu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To display the data in the necessary format, activate the Filter field output<\/strong> toggle and select the format option from the Callback <\/strong>drop-down menu. In this case, we choose the \u201cFormat date\u201d Callback<\/strong> and set the \u201cF j, Y\u201d Format<\/strong> to display the date in the \u201cMonth, day, year\u201d view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enabled the Customize field output<\/strong> toggle and added the \u201cCheck-in Date:\u201d text in the newly appeared field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, we set up other fields to display the checkout date, the title of the booked service, the booking status, and the customer\u2019s email address. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready with the settings.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Displaying Orders on the Front End<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, proceed to the editing page where you need to display the booking orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Listing Grid<\/strong> widget to the page. In the Listing<\/strong> field, select the listing you have just created.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all the settings are done, click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, proceed to the front end page, where we can view the orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Displaying orders for the administrator only<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you would like to display all created booking orders for the administrator only, you can set up a Dynamic Visibility<\/strong><\/a> condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return to the editing page and select the Listing Grid<\/strong> widget on the page and go to Advanced > Dynamic Visibility<\/em><\/strong>. Enable the toggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the needed Visibility condition type<\/strong> to show or hide the element. Then click on the Condition <\/strong>drop-down and choose the \u201cUser Role is\u201d option in the User <\/strong>section. In the User Role<\/strong> field, add the \u201cAdministrator\u201d option.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button, and let\u2019s move to the front end page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being logged in as an admin on the site, we can view the orders.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, when we log out of the site, the orders are no longer visible.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
