Filter by Creation Date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Initially, let\u2019s add a filter by the Custom Content Type <\/strong>items creation date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a filter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Head to WordPress Dashboard > Smart Filters > Add New <\/em><\/strong>to build a new filter<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Name a filter (in our case, \u201cDate Range\u201d Filter Name<\/strong>) and select the \u201cDate Range<\/a>\u201d or \u201cDate Period<\/a>\u201d Filter Type<\/strong>. Now, we pick \u201cDate Range.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the following Filter by <\/strong>selector, pick the \u201cMeta Date\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work on the following settings if desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, pay attention to the Query Variable <\/strong>field. In this field, paste the \u201ccct_created\u201d macro.<\/p>\n\n\n

This value should be manually written and not selected from the \u201cDynamic tag<\/strong>\u201d macros list.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Also, complete the Filter Labels <\/strong>section and ultimately press the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d button to save the filter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Build a listing template<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Next, we should build a Listing template<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>for the CCT <\/strong>we work with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, we go to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Listings\/Components<\/em><\/strong>. Here, press the \u201cAdd New Item<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the opened pop-up, select \u201cCustom Content Type\u201d as the Listing source<\/strong>, select the needed CCT <\/strong>in the From content type <\/strong>dropdown, name the listing in the Listing item name <\/strong>field (in our case, \u201cTour Location Listing\u201d), and pick the Listing view<\/strong> (now we select \u201cElementor.\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Press the \u201cCreate Listing Item<\/strong>\u201d button to proceed to the editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this Listing template<\/strong>, we place the Dynamic Field<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>widget with the CCT <\/strong>item\u2019s \u201cLocation Name\u201d (a \u201cText\u201d meta field) and the Dynamic Image<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>widget with the \u201cLocation Image\u201d (a \u201cMedia\u201d meta field). Add the widgets you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When all the needed widgets are added, publish the Listing template<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the filter and the listing to the page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Now, proceed to the page\/template where you want to place a filter and a listing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add a Date Range Filter<\/strong>\/Date Period Filter <\/strong>widget to the page. In the Select filter <\/strong>field, pick a filter you built earlier and the \u201cJetEngine\u201d option in the This filter for<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make other changes to the widget if desired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, add a Listing Grid<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>to the page. In the Listing <\/strong>field, select a Listing template <\/strong>you have built.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work on the other Listing Grid <\/strong>settings and, when the page is ready, save it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check the result<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Now, it\u2019s time to check the result. Proceed to the front-end page you have just edited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the dates to check the CCT <\/strong>items that were created during this time period, and if everything works fine, you will see the filtered listing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filter by Modification Date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, let\u2019s check how to build a filter by the CCT <\/strong>item modification date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a filter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to the WordPress Dashboard > Smart Filters > Add New <\/em><\/strong>dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complete the Filter Name <\/strong>(here, \u201cDate Period\u201d) and pick the Filter Type<\/strong>: \u201cDate Period\u201d or \u201cDate Range\u201d. Now, we select the \u201cDate Period\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Filter by <\/strong>dropdown, pick the \u201cMeta Data\u201d option and change the Period Type <\/strong>if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work on other settings fields if desired as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, build a listing for CCT <\/strong>items if you haven\u2019t done so. We have built one already; check the instructions in the Building a listing template<\/a> <\/strong>chapter of this guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the filter and the listing to the page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Navigate to the page\/template where you want to place the filter and the Listing Grid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add a Date Period Filter<\/strong>\/Date Range Filter <\/strong>widget to the page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pick the built filter in the Select filter <\/strong>field and the \u201cJetEngine\u201d provider in the This filter for <\/strong>selector. Work on other widget settings if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
