In this article, we aim to obtain the future tour in the meta field<\/a> to display it on the page. We are going to explore step by step how to use a custom query as a source for meta fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add Custom Date Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First, set up the <\/strong>“Date\u201d meta field<\/a> according to which we are going to query the posts. In this case, we have the \u201cTours\u201d Custom Post Type<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Proceed to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Post Types<\/em><\/strong> and click the \u201cEdit<\/strong>\u201d button next to the needed Post Type<\/strong>. Scroll down to the Meta fields<\/strong> tab and click the \u201cNew Meta Field<\/strong>\u201d button to add another field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cDate\u201d Field type <\/strong>and enter the Label <\/strong>(\u201cStart Dates\u201d in our case). It is important to enable the Save as timestamp<\/strong> toggle \u2014 without it, the query will not work for the \u201cDate\u201d field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you are ready, click the \u201cUpdate Post Type<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Create Custom Posts Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, move to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > <\/em><\/strong>Query Builder<\/em><\/strong><\/a> <\/em><\/strong>and click the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the Name <\/strong>for your query and select the \u201cPosts Query<\/a>\u201d Query Type<\/strong>. In the General<\/strong> tab, select the needed Post Type <\/strong>(\u201cTour\u201d in this case).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open the Meta Query <\/strong>tab and click the \u201cAdd new clause<\/strong>\u201d button.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Field key\/name<\/strong> type the name of the \u201cDate\u201d field you created. Set the \u201cGreater than (>)\u201d operator to Compare<\/strong>. Next to the Value <\/strong>input, click the \u201cDynamic Tag<\/strong><\/a>\u201d icon and select the \u201cToday\u201d option. Also, choose the \u201cTimestamp\u201d for the data Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we enable the Preview Results<\/strong> toggle, we see that we get six posts with the dates in the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set Up the Query Results as a Source for a Meta Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In this case, we will display the options on the WordPress page. So we need to add a custom field to the pages. For that, go to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Meta Boxes <\/em><\/strong>and click the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the Meta Box Title<\/strong> and select \u201cPosts\u201d in the Meta Box for<\/strong> the dropdown. In the Enable for Post Types<\/strong> field, we select the \u201cPages\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Meta fields<\/strong> tab, click the \u201cNew Meta Field<\/strong>\u201d button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cRadio<\/a>\u201d Field Type<\/strong> and enter the Label <\/strong>for the field. In the Source <\/strong>field, select the \u201cQuery Builder\u201d option. In the newly appeared Query <\/strong>field, select the Posts Query<\/strong> you created earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you are ready, click the \u201cAdd\/Update Meta Box<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Add Values to the Radio Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Open the backend page on which you need to display the value from the field. Here, we see the correct six posts as the field options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the desired option in the field and click the \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Display the Value on the Page<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, open the page in the editor (in Elementor, in our case). Add the Dynamic Field<\/strong><\/a> widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cMeta Data\u201d Source<\/strong>. As the Meta Field<\/strong>, <\/strong>choose the \u201cRadio\u201d field name. Enable the Filter field output<\/strong> toggle and select the \u201cGet post\/page title<\/a>\u201d option in the Callback <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
