In this JetEngine <\/em>Profile Builder <\/strong>tutorial, we will cover how to set up JetEngine<\/em>\u2019s Profile Builder <\/strong>on your WordPress website and create a functional user account page with editable profile data and custom subpages. This guide is suitable for building a WordPress membership profile builder, allowing you to create user profile pages and public profile pages with JetEngine<\/em>\u2019s Profile Builder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activate the Profile Builder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To begin the JetEngine <\/em>Profile Builder <\/strong>setup, you should first activate the Profile Builder<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>module. It can be done in the WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > JetEngine > Modules <\/em><\/strong>tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find and activate the Profile Builder <\/strong>toggle in the Default Modules <\/strong>tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Press the \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Set Up Profile Builder<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After the module activation, go to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Profile Builder<\/em><\/strong>. Here, you can set up the Profile Builder<\/strong> account page and the pages displayed in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

First, select the Account Page <\/strong>you want to use.<\/p>\n\n\n

Things to know<\/div>

Make sure that the used Account Page<\/strong> has the Profile Menu<\/strong><\/a> and Profile Subpage Content<\/strong> widgets\/blocks\/elements. Otherwise, no content will be displayed on the front end.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the Single user page <\/strong>toggle can be activated to select a page to use as a public single user page. For example, we activate it and set it to the \u201cSingle seller\u201d page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also select the \u201cUser ID\u201d option in the Use Page Rewrite <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our case, the Template mode <\/strong>is set to \u201cContent\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, we activate the Hide admin bar <\/strong>toggle and leave the Restrict admin area access <\/strong>toggle inactive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Account page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s open the Account Page <\/strong>tab<\/a> to build the user account page JetEngine <\/em>structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, you can set up the Account Page Title <\/strong>and Account Page Description<\/strong> if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the For not authorized users <\/strong>dropdown field, we pick the \u201cRedirect to page\u201d option and paste the needed URL in the Redirect URL <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, we click the \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d button and proceed to create templates for the subpages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add template content<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s add templates that will be later used as JetEngine<\/em> Profile Builder<\/strong> subpages content. We will build it with Elementor, so we go to WordPress Dashboard > Elementor > Editor > Templates <\/em><\/strong>and press the \u201cAdd New Template<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the NEW TEMPLATE <\/strong>pop-up, select the \u201cPage\u201d template type and name your template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cCreate Template<\/strong>\u201d button to open the editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

User Posts template<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When the template editor is opened, start adding the needed content to it. We will now describe an example of how to fill in the template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, we add a Heading <\/strong>with a \u201cUser Posts\u201d Title<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we add a Text Editor <\/strong>widget and click the \u201cDynamic Tag<\/strong>\u201d<\/a> button next to the field to fill it dynamically. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We select the \u201cQuery Results Count\u201d option from the list and open its settings. In the Query <\/strong>dropdown, we pick the \u201cQuery by Posts of the Current User\u201d option and set the \u201cTotal query results count\u201d option in the Returned Count <\/strong>dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We open the Advanced <\/strong>tab of the settings and complete the Before <\/strong>field with the \u201cYou have\u201d value and the After <\/strong>field with the \u201citems\u201d value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This way, we will dynamically display the number of posts published by the current user, like \u201cYou have n<\/strong> items\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we add a Listing Grid<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>widget to the page and select a Listing <\/strong>template<\/a> that was created beforehand and now displays ads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also move to the Custom Query <\/strong>tab and activate the Use Custom Query <\/strong>toggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Custom Query <\/strong>dropdown, we select the query that will display only the posts added by the current user. It was built beforehand with the help of the Query Builder<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also add a Pagination<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>widget from JetSmartFilters<\/em><\/a> <\/em>to let users switch between the pages of the posts list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its settings, we set the Query ID <\/strong>that we also add to the CSS ID <\/strong>field of the Listing Grid <\/strong>in order to connect them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also add similar sections with the \u201cPending\u201d and \u201cDeleted\u201d posts, which are adjusted to be visible only if such posts exist and are related to the current user. This can be implemented with the Dynamic Visibility<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the template when it\u2019s ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add Post template<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Next, we create the \u201cAdd Post\u201d template the same way as the \u201cUser Posts\u201d one, in the Elementor editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, we add only one widget called JetForm<\/strong><\/a>. It allows inserting the form created with the JetFormBuilder<\/em><\/a> <\/em>plugin, such as a user registration Profile Builder<\/strong> or post submission form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, in the Choose Form <\/strong>dropdown, we pick the form that allows adding a new post. We built it beforehand with JetFormBuilder<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edit Post template<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the Edit Post <\/strong>template, we add a JetForm <\/strong>widget as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Choose Form <\/strong>dropdown, we pick the \u201cEdit Post\u201d form this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After making the changes to the template, we push the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edit User template<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the \u201cEdit User\u201d template, we add a JetForm <\/strong>widget with the \u201cEdit User\u201d form selected in the Choose Form <\/strong>dropdown. This form allows users to change their personal information on the website, creating an editable user profile in WordPress using JetFormBuilder<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the form is added to the canvas, we publish the template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all the templates have been created, we return to the Account Page <\/strong>tab of WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Profile Builder<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, press the \u201cAdd New Subpage<\/strong>\u201d button to start configuring JetEngine <\/em>profile builder subpages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our case, we assign the \u201cUser Posts\u201d Template <\/strong>to the \u201cMy Ads\u201d subpage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we add one more subpage called \u201cAdd New Ad\u201d. The \u201cAdd Post\u201d Template <\/strong>is attached to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the \u201cEdit Ad\u201d subpage, we add the \u201cEdit Post\u201d Template<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this subpage, we also activate the Hide from menu <\/strong>toggle, which will make this subpage hidden from the menu where all subpages are displayed; however, the page will still be accessible via link. For instance, we will use this feature in such a way: place an \u201cEdit<\/strong>\u201d button in the Listing template <\/strong>so the user can access the \u201cEdit\u201d page by clicking on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, we select the \u201cEdit User\u201d Template<\/strong> for the \u201cSettings\u201d subpage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also switch to the User Page <\/strong>tab in order to build a user page where all information associated with this user should be displayed, forming a single user public profile JetEngine <\/em>page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced settings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In this tab, you can set up the maximum allowed post count (for example, for membership or user role restrictions) to be inserted by the user. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, we open the account page on the front end. The pages we have added are now displayed in the form of tabs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, we see the \u201cMy Ads\u201d page. It includes all the widgets that we have added to the \u201cUser Posts\u201d template.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
