The <strong>Meta Fields<\/strong> are intended to store data of a specific type via <a href=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/jetengine\/how-to-create-a-custom-post-type-based-on-jetengine-plugin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Custom Post Type<\/strong><\/a> posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"adding-the-meta-fields\"><strong>Adding the Meta Fields<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>To add the meta field(s), one should navigate to <strong><em>WordPress Dashboard &gt; JetEngine <\/em><\/strong>and click the appropriate tab: <strong>Post Types<\/strong>, <strong>Meta Boxes<\/strong>, <strong>Taxonomies<\/strong>, <strong>Relations<\/strong>, or <strong>Options Pages<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, the \u201c<strong>Add New<\/strong>\u201d button should be pressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Meta fields<\/strong> (or similarly named) settings tab is available for each listed feature editor. The following fields of the meta field settings are standard for all meta field types:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings-1024x640.webp\" alt=\"meta field common settings\" class=\"wp-image-43531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings-1024x640.webp 1024w, https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings-300x188.webp 300w, https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings-768x480.webp 768w, https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings-1536x960.webp 1536w, https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings-600x375.webp 600w, https:\/\/crocoblock.com\/knowledge-base\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/meta-field-common-settings.webp 1824w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Label <\/strong>\u2014 a title of the field that will be shown to users;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Name\/ID<\/strong> \u2014 a value that is generated automatically, according to the text put into the <strong>Label <\/strong>bar. The ID must contain no spaces and consist of only Latin letters and numbers. The auto-fill feature will add a random number to the name if it is not unique. The fields with identical IDs could be confusing and cause issues if used elsewhere. If the <strong>Label <\/strong>bar includes Cyrillic letters, the auto-fill will transliterate them to English;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Object type <\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 a dropdown list that allows users to select the type of the meta field. The \u201cField\u201d option allows adding values there. Meanwhile, the \u201cTab,\u201d \u201cAccordion,\u201d and \u201cEndpoint\u201d options will create a specific layout;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Description <\/strong>\u2014 an additional field to type information about the meta field purpose;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Field width <\/strong>\u2014 a dropdown list with the field width options that can be changed to make the meta field layout more compact. The \u201c100%\u201d option is set by default;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Character limit <\/strong>\u2014 a field responsible for the meta field input limitation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Default value <\/strong>\u2014 a default input for the meta field that can be changed if desired;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Is required <\/strong>\u2014 if enabled, this toggle makes the field required;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quick edit support <\/strong>\u2014 an option that allows displaying some meta fields from <em>JetEngine <\/em>in the default area for fast editing. It will enable quick change of the values of some meta fields without opening posts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"note-banner d-flex border-bold border-jetsmartfilters rounded overflow-hidden p-20\"><div class=\"mr-12\"><svg width=\"24\" height=\"24\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M1 21H23L12 2L1 21ZM13 18H11V16H13V18ZM13 14H11V10H13V14Z\" fill=\"#FA5450\"\/><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"d-flex flex-column\"><div class=\"text-900 mb-12\">Warning<\/div><p class=\"m-0\">The meta fields in <strong>Meta Boxes<\/strong> with the enabled <strong>Quick edit support<\/strong> option ignore the <strong> Visibility Conditions<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Revision support<\/strong> \u2014 if activated, this toggle displays changes made to the field in the post\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/documentation\/article\/revisions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><strong>Revisions<\/strong> section<\/a>. By default, meta fields are not shown in this section, even if the \u201cRevisions\u201d option is selected in the <strong>Supports<\/strong> field of the <strong>Post Type<\/strong> settings. If enabled, this toggle opens the <strong>Conditional Logic for Field<\/strong> pop-up, where a conditional logic rule and a relation can be set.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"meta-field-types-and-their-features\"><strong>Meta Field Types and Their Features<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>The following <strong>Meta Field<\/strong> types are available in the <strong>Field type <\/strong>dropdown menu: \u201cText,\u201d \u201cDate,\u201d \u201cTime,\u201d \u201cDatetime,\u201d \u201cTextarea,\u201d \u201cWYSIWYG,\u201d \u201cSwitcher,\u201d \u201cCheckbox,\u201d \u201cIconpicker,\u201d \u201cMedia,\u201d \u201cGallery,\u201d \u201cRadio,\u201d \u201cRepeater,\u201d \u201cSelect,\u201d \u201cNumber,\u201d \u201cColorpicker,\u201d \u201cPosts,\u201d \u201cHTML,\u201d \u201cAdvanced Date,\u201d and \u201cMap.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"texts-and-numbers\"><strong>Texts and numbers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This group of meta fields includes the \u201cText,\u201d \u201cTextarea,\u201d \u201cWYSIWYG,\u201d and \u201cNumber\u201d meta fields. Except for the \u201cWYSIWYG\u201d meta fields and the aforementioned meta fields, these are frequently used meta fields. The text fields from this group, except for their direct purposes, collect and display data on numbers, texts, ranges of numbers, emails, URLs, links, and passwords.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"note-banner d-flex border-bold border-jetsmartfilters rounded overflow-hidden p-20\"><div class=\"mr-12\"><svg width=\"24\" height=\"24\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M1 21H23L12 2L1 21ZM13 18H11V16H13V18ZM13 14H11V10H13V14Z\" fill=\"#FA5450\"\/><\/svg><\/div><div class=\"d-flex flex-column\"><div class=\"text-900 mb-12\">Warning<\/div><p class=\"m-0\">Users can make the \u201cText,\u201d \u201cTextarea,\u201d and \u201cWYSIWYG\u201d fields SEO-friendly by applying the <i>RankMath<\/i> and <i>Yoast SEO<\/i> tools.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"text\"><strong>Text<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This type is for adding a custom text field to the post type to provide supplemental information about posts.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cText\u201d meta field allows setting the maximum field value length in the <strong>Character limit<\/strong> field; leaving this field empty sets no limitation in the character value. The following characters are allowable: uppercase and lowercase Latin and Cyrillic letters; digits from 0 to 9; special characters and spaces.
