This tutorial focuses on redirecting users to a prefiltered results page based on their dropdown selection. This guide shows methods with JetSmartFilters <\/em>Select Filter<\/strong> and JetFormBuilder <\/em>forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redirect to a Prefiltered Results Page with the Select Filter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Create a filter<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Go to WordPress Dashboard > Smart Filters > Add New<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a Select Filter<\/strong><\/a>, select \u201cTaxonomies\u201d as the Data Source<\/strong>, and choose \u201cProduct categories\u201d from the Taxonomy <\/strong>dropdown menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Create a page with a product listing and a filter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, you need to create two pages. The first one will be a result page where you will add filters.
The second page will be a search page. This page should contain the same filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a new page or <\/strong>open the needed page in the Elementor Page Builder.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drag and drop the following widgets into the page: Select Filter<\/strong> and Listing Grid<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Add a filter to the needed page<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On the page from which we are redirecting the user, you need to use the same filter with the same settings as on the page to which we are redirecting.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Open the needed page in the Elementor page builder. In the described case, we create a new page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drag and drop the Select Filter<\/strong> and the Apply Button<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>widgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Apply Button<\/strong> widget in the second column and enable the Apply Redirect <\/strong>option. In the Redirect Path<\/strong> section, add the URL of the page to which the user will be directed after applying the filter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to the front end to check the result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select any filter and click the \u201cApply Filters<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will be redirected to the page with the Listing Grid <\/strong>sorted by the category you specified earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redirect to a Prefiltered Results Page with the Select Form Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Similar functionality can be achieved with the help of the JetFormBuilder <\/em>form Select Field<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a form<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\n

Proceed to WordPress Dashboard > JetFormBuilder > Add New Form<\/em><\/strong>. Enter the form\u2019s title \u2013 in this case, it is \u201cForm with Select Field\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Welcome<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>block appears by default. From here, you can select a form pattern or generate a form with OpenAI<\/a>. Otherwise, you can hit the \u201cStart from scratch<\/strong>\u201d button and use the three fields added by default; otherwise, you can delete them to begin anew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case, we build our form from scratch. We also delete the default fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, we add a Select Field <\/strong>for the products\u2019 categories. For the FIELD LABEL<\/strong>, we put \u201ccategories_field\u201d. Then, from the FILL OPTIONS FROM<\/strong> dropdown, we select the \u201cTerms\u201d option. In the TAXONOMY<\/strong> field, we select the \u201cProduct categories\u201d. In the VALUE FROM META FIELD<\/strong> input, put the \u201cslug\u201d value.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, proceed to the JetForm <\/strong>tab and to the Post Submit Action<\/strong> section. Here, press the \u201c+ New Action<\/strong>\u201d button. In the opened pop-up, find and click the \u201cRedirect to Page<\/strong><\/a>\u201d action to add it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, you should see a pop-up that provides the settings for this action. Select the \u201cCustom URL\u201d option for the REDIRECT TO<\/strong> field. To the REDIRECT URL<\/strong>, add the link to the category archive page on your site that the user should be redirected to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Select Field<\/strong> name to the URL; thus, the URL structure should look like this:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our case, we use the \u201chttp:\/\/woocommerce.local\/product-category\/%categories_field%\/\u201d REDIRECT URL<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d button to save the post submit action settings.\u00a0Then, click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Add the form to the page<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to the page where you need to display the Select Filter<\/strong> dropdown. Following the How to Display a Form on the Front End<\/strong><\/a> guide, we add it to the header.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the JetForm <\/strong>widget and select the form you created in the Choose Form<\/strong> input.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
