While this works well for most cases, sometimes you may want fresher data or a longer storage period. Let\u2019s have a look at how to change it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"clear-transients-and-disable-caching\">Clear Transients and Disable Caching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<p>First, to verify caching behavior, you need to clear any existing transients. To do this, install the <a href=\"https:\/\/en-gb.wordpress.org\/plugins\/delete-expired-transients\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><em>Delete Expired Transients<\/em><\/a> plugin.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proceed to<strong><em> WordPress Dashboard &gt; Plugins &gt; Add Plugin <\/em><\/strong>and search for the <em>Delete Expired Transients<\/em> plugin. The code sets the cache time for the <strong>Video Playlist<\/strong> widget to one hour. After one hour, the widget will request fresh data from the YouTube API.
