This article focuses on three ways to display PDF files using the Dynamic Widgets<\/strong><\/a> and buttons with the WordPress JetEngine <\/em>and JetElements <\/em>plugins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Download the PDF through the Button<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n

This solution requires the JetElements<\/a> plugin installed and activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PDF file should be added to the \u201cMedia<\/a>\u201d field. For this case, the \u201cMedia\u201d <\/strong>meta field stores the value as \u201cMedia ID\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to the post and add the PDF file to the \u201cMedia\u201d <\/strong>field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to WordPress Dashboard > Crocoblock > JetPlugins Settings > JetElements > Widgets & Extensions<\/em><\/strong> and enable the Download Button <\/strong>toggle.<\/p>\n\n\n

The number of activated widgets may impact the website's performance, so only the required ones should be enabled.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Move to the page where you need to display the PDF file. Add the Download Button<\/strong><\/a> widget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Download ID<\/strong> dropdown, select the \u201cCustom Field\u201d option. In the newly opened pop-up, choose the Field <\/strong>that stores the PDF file. You can set up the desired Download Link Text<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready and open the front-end page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, when you click the \u201cDownload<\/strong>\u201d button, the file is downloaded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Display the PDF as a Link<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The second solution describes how to display a link to the PDF file. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve this, first of all, install the Attachment link callback<\/em> addon. You can find it on the DevTools<\/a> page and install it for free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Value Format<\/strong> of the \u201cMedia\u201d field should have the \u201cMedia ID\u201d option selected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to the page where you need to display the PDF file. Add the Dynamic Field<\/strong><\/a> widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Source <\/strong>dropdown, choose \u201cMeta Data\u201d. Then, select the custom Media field you have created with JetEngine <\/em>(it\u2019s called \u201cPDF-Media\u201d in our case) in the Meta Field<\/strong> dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enable the Filter field output<\/strong> toggle. In the Callback <\/strong>field, select the \u201cGet attachment file link by ID\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cPublish<\/strong>\u201d button and proceed to the front-end page. Now, clicking the link we added, we can open and download the PDF file on the same page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Show PDF File Content with the Dynamic Field Widget<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The third option supports only the \u201cMedia URL\u201d Value Format<\/strong> of the \u201cMedia\u201d field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Move to the needed page and add the Dynamic Field <\/strong>widget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cMeta Data\u201d option from the Source <\/strong>dropdown. Then, choose the custom Media field you\u2019ve created (\u201cPDF-Media URL\u201d in this case) in the Meta Field<\/strong> dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enable the Customize field output<\/strong> toggle. In the newly appeared Field format<\/strong> input, add the following code:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
