In this case, we use the Relation <\/strong>between posts and users. When the post is updated, we need to send the updated information to the user related to this post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjust an SQL Query<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > <\/em><\/strong>Query Builder<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and click the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the Name <\/strong>for a query and select the \u201cSQL\/AI Query<\/a>\u201d Query Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the From table<\/strong> dropdown, select the \u201cpostmeta\u201d option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enable the Use Join<\/strong> toggle. In the Join Tables<\/strong>, click the \u201cAdd new<\/strong>\u201d button. For the Join Type<\/strong>, select the \u201cInner Join\u201d option. Choose the \u201cjet_rel_default\u201d option for the Join Table<\/strong>. In the When current table column<\/strong> field, select the \u201cparent_object_id\u201d option. For the Is equal to other table column<\/strong> dropdown, select the \u201cpost_id\u201d option.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Where (query clauses)<\/strong> section, click the \u201cAdd new<\/strong>\u201d button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select the \u201cjet_rel_default.child_object_id\u201d option for the Column <\/strong>field, and the \u201cEqual (=)\u201d operator for the Compare <\/strong>input. For the Value <\/strong>field, click the \u201cDynamic Tag<\/strong><\/a>\u201d icon and select the \u201cCurrent user ID\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cAdd new<\/strong>\u201d button again. Now, select the \u201cpostmeta.meta_key\u201d for the Column <\/strong>field. Choose the\u00a0 \u201cEqual (=)\u201d operator for the Compare <\/strong>dropdown. In the Value <\/strong>input, enter the email address meta field from which to pull the data.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Where Relation<\/strong> dropdown, select the \u201cAnd\u201d option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cAdd Query<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready. This SQL query retrieves the related data and returns the meta field containing the email we need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Generate a Macro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > JetEngine > <\/em><\/strong>Macros Generator<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. For the Macros <\/strong>field, select the \u201cQuery Results\u201d option. In the newly appeared Query <\/strong>field, select the query you created earlier. For the Return <\/strong>dropdown, select the \u201cList of selected fields from item object\u201d option. In the Comma-separated fields list <\/strong>field, enter the \u201cmeta_value\u201d value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Copy the macro you get, and keep it for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Code<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Add the following code<\/a> to the functions.php file of the child theme, or into the Code Snippets<\/em><\/a> plugin, or any other plugin for code snippets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this case, we use the Code Snippets<\/em> plugin. Click the \u201cSave and Activate<\/strong>\u201d button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Form Set-Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to the form you need to edit. In this case, we use a post-update form<\/a> to send the updated information to the related user.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the fields for the post update, add a Hidden Field<\/strong><\/a> with the \u201cManual Input\u201d FIELD VALUE<\/strong>. In its VALUE <\/strong>field, add the macro you created earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Post Submit Actions<\/strong> section, click the \u201c+ New Action<\/strong>\u201d button and select the \u201cSend Email<\/a>.\u201d In the editing action pop-up, select the \u201cEmail from submitted form field\u201d option for the MAIL TO<\/strong> field. In the FROM FIELD<\/strong> dropdown, select the Hidden Field<\/strong> with macro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, set the email content and click the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d button. Save the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check the Result<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ensure that the form is added to the single post page<\/a> of the related post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The post we are checking has the user connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also added a Text Field<\/strong><\/a> to the form to show that the required email is connected. When we proceed to the front end, we can see that the related user’s email is connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
