Using the JetSmartFilters<\/em><\/a>\u2019 <\/em>\u201cJetEngine Query Builder Switcher\u201d source and JetEngine\u2019s<\/em><\/a> Query Builder<\/strong><\/a> module, we can add filters to display posts of a selected radius. So the user can select the desired distance to show the posts around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JetEngine Maps Configurations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To start the setup, ensure that the Maps Listings<\/strong><\/a> toggle is enabled in WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > JetEngine > Modules > Default Modules<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the Maps Settings<\/strong> tab, set up the Map Providers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside your Custom Post Type<\/strong><\/a>, add the Map<\/strong><\/a> field to store the address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Save the changes and add the addresses to the posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Custom Query for All the Posts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, proceed to WordPress Dashboard > JetEngine > Query Builder<\/em><\/strong> and click the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the query Name <\/strong>and select the \u201cPosts Query<\/a>\u201d Query Type<\/strong>. In the Custom Query ID<\/strong> field, enter a unique value.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the General <\/strong>tab, select the needed Post Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open the Geo Search<\/strong> tab and select a location on the map to get values around it. Enter the Address Field<\/strong> name where the addresses are stored. Type the Distance<\/strong> where the posts will be found, then select the Units<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cAdd Query<\/strong> \/ Update Query<\/strong>\u201d button.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Custom Query for the Posts with a Specified Radius<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now, create one more query for the same CPT<\/strong>. It is important to put the unique Custom Query ID <\/strong>for a new query.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, in the Geo Search<\/strong> section, set the location again. Enter the same map field for the address. Set the Distance <\/strong>\u2014 the radius at which you need to show the posts. Choose the Units<\/strong> as well.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things to know<\/div>

This query will become an option that users can choose to set the desired radius for showing posts. You can keep only one query or create additional similar queries with different distances, giving users more options.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Query Switcher Filter Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Move to WordPress Dashboard > Smart Filters<\/em><\/strong> and click the \u201cAdd New<\/strong>\u201d button. Select the \u201cRadio<\/a>\u201d Filter Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Data Source<\/strong>, choose the \u201cJetEngine Query Builder Switcher\u201d and in the Select Query <\/strong>field, choose the queries you created in the previous steps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Query Variable<\/strong>, select the \u201cSwitch JetEngine Query\u201d option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cUpdate<\/strong>\u201d button once you are ready.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

User Geolocation Filter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Add another filter, select the \u201cUser Geolocation<\/a>\u201d Filter Type<\/strong>, and save the filter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add Filters and Map to the Page<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Proceed to the page where the map with the filter will be displayed. Add the User Geolocation<\/strong> widget and select the filter you created earlier. In the This filter for<\/strong> dropdown, select the \u201cJetEngine Maps\u201d option. Set the unique Query ID<\/strong> and keep it, as it will be used further.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Radio Filter<\/strong> widget and select the filter you created. Select the \u201cJetEngine Maps\u201d in the This filter for<\/strong> dropdown. Set the same Query ID<\/strong> you added to the User Geolocation <\/strong>widget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the Map Listing<\/strong> widget to the page. In the Address Meta Field<\/strong> input, type the name of the map field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then open the Advanced <\/strong>tab and in the CSS ID<\/strong> field, add the same Query ID<\/strong> you used for the filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
