When using JetSmartFilters <\/em>with Bricks Builder, connecting a filter to a provider may require setting up a Query ID<\/strong><\/a>. But the settings may vary for different providers you select in the filter settings. The issue typically appears when users mix up the JetEngine Listing Grid\u2019s<\/em><\/a> CSS ID <\/strong>field with the Bricks Query Loop\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> Custom Query ID, <\/strong>and appear to be unsure which ID should go where, resulting in a filter that is connected but does not update the listing on the frontend. This issue affects WordPress sites built with Bricks Builder using JetSmartFilters <\/em>together with JetEngine\u2019s <\/em>Query Builder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to emphasize that both Listing Grid<\/strong><\/a> and Query Loop<\/strong> can work with the filters with no Query ID<\/strong> applied when there is just one provider and one query on the page. However, when you have several grids or loops with different queries applied, it is recommended to set the Query ID<\/strong> between the filters and the needed providers. In this tutorial, we focus on setting the Query ID<\/strong> for the JetEngine\u2019s <\/em>Listing Grid<\/strong> and Query Loop<\/strong> elements in the Bricks Builder.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, in this troubleshooting, we assume you know how to create a filter and how to set the Listing Grid<\/strong> or Query Loop<\/strong>. So here, we are focusing on connecting the filters to the providers with the Query IDs <\/strong>on the editing page in Bricks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setting Up the Custom ID for the Listing Grid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Add the Listing Grid <\/strong>element to the page and the needed filter \u2014 in this case, we use a Select Filter<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Select filter<\/strong> dropdown, choose the needed filter. In the This filter for<\/strong> field, choose the \u201cJetEngine\u201d option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As it was already mentioned, if this is the only provider on the page, the filter will work with the current setup correctly. If you need to attach the filter to a specific provider, add the unique Query ID<\/strong> to the Query ID<\/strong> field in the filter\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n\n\n

Then, proceed to the Style <\/strong>tab of the Listing Grid<\/strong> settings and open the CSS <\/strong>section. In the CSS ID<\/strong> field, enter the same Query ID<\/strong> you used for the filter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Click the \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d icon once you are ready. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case you also have a custom query<\/a> attached to the Listing Grid<\/strong>, the Query ID<\/strong> should be applied to it as well. For that, proceed to the custom query settings and enter the same Query ID<\/strong> in the dedicated field.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setting Up the Custom ID for the Query Loop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When you use the Bricks\u2019 Query Loop<\/strong> as a provider for the filters, the Query ID<\/strong> is not required by default. So, add the Container <\/strong>and set the Query Loop<\/strong> in it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add the required filter, in this case, we use the Select Filter<\/strong>. Select the needed filter and choose the \u201cBricks query loop\u201d option in the This filter for <\/strong>dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Query Loop<\/strong> settings, enable the Is filtrable<\/strong> toggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These settings are enough for the correct basic Query Loop<\/strong> filtration. In case you need the Query ID<\/strong> to be applied, enter the unique one in the Query ID<\/strong> field in the filter\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n\n\n
