There are some typical cases when smart filters might not be working as expected. In this troubleshooting article, we\u2019re going to spill the tea and cover the 7 most common JetSmartFilters issues<\/strong>. Read on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Old Plugin Version<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes it\u2019s the plugin version that impedes filters from working properly. Make sure yours is up-to-date. Follow the Crocoblock > Update & Installation<\/em><\/strong> pathway, press the \u201cCheck For Updates<\/strong>\u201d button, then find JetSmartFilters amid all plugins, and see if there\u2019s a newer version of it. If yes, press \u201cUpdate Now<\/strong>\u201d below the plugin name. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\"updating\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Poorly Configured Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First and foremost, you need to double-check if the necessary widget is activated in the Crocoblock dashboard. To do it, proceed to Crocoblock > JetPlugins Settings > JetSmartFilters > General Settings<\/em><\/strong>. You will see a list of content widgets available for filtering there. Enable the toggles of those you need. The changes will be saved automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"jetsmartfilters\n\n\n\n

Another trouble you may encounter is the deactivated Indexer <\/strong>functionality. To make sure it\u2019s enabled, open the Indexer Settings<\/strong> in the JetSmartFilters Settings tab. If the toggle is not active, enable it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"indexer\n\n\n\n

Next, proceed to Smart Filters > Smart Filters<\/em><\/strong> in the WordPress dashboard and press the red button to index filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"index\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Improper Elementor Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, it\u2019s necessary to check the filter settings in Elementor. Let\u2019s start with the provider. In the \u201cThis filter for<\/strong>\u201d drop-down list, you need to pick the right option. If we want to filter the WooCommerce archive page, it\u2019s crucial to stick with the \u201cWooCommerce Archive (by JetWooBuilder)\u201d option as shown below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"selecting\n\n\n\n

If you want to filter anything else, like Listing Grid<\/em>, make sure to pick the \u201cJetEngine\u201d option in the drop-down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another tricky thing is mixing up the values of the Apply type<\/strong> and Apply on<\/strong> fields. For instance, if you choose \u201cPage reload\u201d as Apply type<\/strong>, then it\u2019s necessary to activate the Show apply button<\/strong> toggle switch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\"show\n\n\n\n

If you hide a content section with a Listing Grid in it (the so-called Responsive option) and try to display the grids on mobile devices, keep in mind that you also need to assign the CSS IDs. Both in the main Grid and the hidden one. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Improperly Set Checkbox Meta Field<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is fairly easy to mistake the Checkboxes filter type and the similarly named JetEngine meta field. If you go to the Smart Filters > Smart Filters<\/em><\/strong> and open to edit a Checkboxes field type of yours, you\u2019ll be able to see that there\u2019s a switch toggle named Is Checkbox Meta Field (Jet Engine). <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\"is\n\n\n\n

This toggle should be activated only if you\u2019re going to filter data from the Checkbox meta field type that you created using JetEngine. Let\u2019s sum up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • You DO <\/strong>activate this toggle if the filter type is \u201cCheckboxes list\u201d or any other and the meta field type you want the data to be pulled is \u201cCheckboxes\u201d;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
