Step 2 — Then, navigate to the JetEngine > Taxonomies > Add New. Read how to create a Taxonomy in this tutorial. I’ve created the taxonomy named “Topic” and selected the Portfolio CPT in the Post Type field.

Step 3 — After that, go to the Taxonomy in the Custom Post Types you’ve created before. Here you can add different Categories.

Type in the Name and the Slug for the category. Also, you can choose the Parent Category for it, add a Description and apply Values from the taxonomy you’ve created before.

Step 4 — The next step is to open the needed post in the Custom Post Types. At the right panel, you’ll see your categories. There’s an option to Add New Category and Subcategory.

I’ve created the category named “Food” and set such subcategories as “Pancakes” and “with Strawberry”. When you’re done with customization click on the Publish button to save the results.
